23 Mar U.S. Consulate General Surabaya Officers Visit CTC’s Center for Marine Conservation

On March 23, 2021, the CTC Center for Marine Conservation hosted a team from the U.S. Consulate General Surabaya. The Head of the Political-Economic Unit Chief, Roshni Nirody, together with Deputy Head of the Political-Economic Unit, Dylan Hoey, and Yessika Indarini, the Political-Economic Specialist, visited the center to learn more about CTC’s work in marine conservation efforts.

Their visit to CTC was started with a tour around our center, and they were introduced to our integrated learning space that is dedicated to coral reef and ocean protection. We also presented our fun-learning programs that inspire people to care for our reefs and oceans. During the tour around our center, they had the chance to try our fun-learning program Games for Change – Escape Room SOS from the Deep and SOS Plastic Danger.

At the end of the tour around the center, CTC represented by Marthen Welly, CTC’s Marine Conservation Advisor, presented stories from the field and lessons learned from marine conservation efforts across the Coral Triangle region.

In the past, CTC has conducted several activities with the U.S. Consulate Surabaya. Moving forward, CTC aims to continue the collaboration with the U.S. Consulate Surabaya to ensure successful long-term conservation in the Coral Triangle.
