CTC recently completed the annual Green Fins assessments in Pemuteran, Bali-Indonesia from September 1-3 of 2025, working with two long-standing members: Abyss Oceans World and Easy Divers. These assessments provide an important opportunity to recognize and strengthen sustainable diving practices while supporting dive operators in minimizing their environmental impact.
Green Fins is a global initiative by the United Nation Environment Program (UNEP) and coordinated internationally by The Reef-World Foundation. In Indonesia, CTC serves as the national coordinator to implement the Green Fins program, helping dive and snorkel operators adopt environmental standards that protect coral reefs and marine life.
Abyss Oceans World once again demonstrated its exceptional dedication by maintaining its Gold level in this fifth assessment. This achievement highlights the dive center’s consistent, long-term commitment to responsible marine tourism and its efforts to lead by example within the local community.
Easy Divers also remained committed in its fourth year as a Green Fins member. The team has made significant investments in more sustainable operations, including the use of new four-stroke engines that produce fewer emissions and are gentler on the marine environment.
Indonesia currently has 49 active Green Fins members, including both diving and snorkeling operators that have undergone assessments and those holding digital certificates. Among them, Abyss Oceans World and Easy Divers have proven to be valuable partners in promoting sustainable marine tourism in Pemuteran. We look forward to seeing their continued leadership and achievements in the coming year.
