On June 17–18, 2025, CTC facilitated a Technical Assistance and Workshop on managing the repository system for the Central Java Blue Swimming Crab (BSC) Committee. The event was held at the Department of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Central Java (DKP Central Java) and attended by 18 participants, including Committee Members from DKP Central Java, Rekam Jejak Alam Nusantara, and Diponegoro University (Undip). The workshop was officially opened by Bapak Endi Faiz Effendi, Head of the DKP Central Java, who expressed hope that the repository would serve as a valuable tool for storing and accessing key documents to support sustainable BSC fisheries management in Central Java.
Over the two days, participants learned about the repository structure, reorganized documents from their respective working groups, and practiced data input. One of the challenges faced was that the documents and information on committee activities were mostly managed by the secretariat, so each working group did not collect BSC management activities independently. At the end of the workshop, the Central Java BSC repository stored 63 activity data and 122 documents. All information is accessible to all Committee members. The documents included reports, attendance lists, training materials, and photos.
To conclude the workshop, participants agreed on the importance of maintaining and regularly updating the repository to ensure its long-term effectiveness. They also committed to improving coordination within their working groups to contribute relevant documents and data more consistently. This collective effort marks a significant step forward in strengthening transparency, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among stakeholders, thereby supporting more informed and sustainable management of the Blue Swimming Crab fishery in Central Java.
