10 Feb CTC Hosts Central Java Fisheries Officials for a Learning Visit in Bali

On December 20, 2022, we welcomed the Marine and Fisheries Department of Central Java Province at our Center for Marine Conservation. The one-day visit was attended by 15 participants, including Head of Coastal and Small Island Marine Affairs, Marine and Fishery Office of Central Java Province, Lilik Harnadi.

During the visit, the participants enjoyed a tour at our Center for Marine Conservation. This gave them an insight into the work that is being done to protect and conserve the marine environment. They also joined our team for a hands-on learning experience in the Nusa Penida Marine Protected Area (MPA). This was an opportunity for the participants to gain an insight from the field team regarding the design, planning and management of the marine protected area.

CTC works with the Central Java Province to promote sustainable Blue Swimming Crab (BSC) fisheries amongst its fishers. We hope through this visit and sharing knowledge, we will continue to work together to support sustainable fisheries in Indonesia.
