12 Mar Coral Diving School: Dive Into Marine Specialty Courses from Home!

This past month, CTC’s Coral Diving School organized a series of online courses available to students from the comforts of their home. The courses included Marine Biology Specialty Courses such as Marine Ecology, Fish Identification, and Coral Identification. The courses were conducted by CTC’s Marine Conservation Adviser, Marthen Welly. Before the sessions started, the students took a pre-test to measure their knowledge of the subject being taught.

Throughout the three courses, the 21 students were excited and displayed great enthusiasm by asking a lot of questions. When the course came to an end, they had a group picture and took the certification test. Students must pass 80% of the certification examination to obtain the SSI certificate. We are proud to say that all of the  students in this batch succeeded and received their certificates! Not  only did these students get a certificate but they also received merchandise and a free house tour around the Center for Marine Conservation when they visited us in Sanur, Bali.

Apart from the online course, Coral Diving school also offers onsite courses such as Try Scuba, Basic Snorkeling, Open Water Course, amongst others. The courses are offered in collaboration with SSI, and are taught by leading marine conservationists who have vast experience in studying coral reefs in Indonesia and the Coral Triangle region. Proceeds of the courses support the Coral Triangle Center’s marine conservation activities. You are not only learning new skills but also directly contributing to the protection of coral reefs and marine life in the world’s epicenter of marine biodiversity.
