20 Feb Collaborative Exchange: IPB University Visits CTC’s Center for Marine Conservation

On January 20th, CTC had the pleasure of hosting the visit from the Department  of Fisheries Technology of Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB University). The group consisted of 40 lecturers, teaching staff, and retirees.

After the house tour with the participants around the Center for Marine Conservation, Wira Sanjaya, CTC Bali Portfolio Manager, provided a comprehensive overview of CTC’s role in marine conservation at the national level in his welcome. He highlighted CTC’s involvement in the development of the Marine Protected Area (MPA) Vision Roadmap and its commitment to community engagement. The discussion delved into various aspects of CTC’s initiatives, including conservation efforts on the ground, capacity-building programs, sustainable tourism endeavors, and community empowerment through education and outreach initiatives.

Discussions revolved around the visible impact of CTC interventions, particularly in the economic and tourism management sectors in Nusa Penida. The CTC internship program also attracted attention, with questions regarding duration and funding opportunities.

We believe that by fostering ongoing collaboration and knowledge sharing, we can collectively contribute to the conservation of Indonesia’s marine ecosystems and the livelihoods of its coastal communities. CTC is committed to be a place for people who will learn and share knowledge about marine conservation issues. Together, we can contribute to the better of our oceans.
