On October 28th, 2025, Coral Triangle Center (CTC) had the honor of hosting a visit from Alliance Française Bali at our center in Sanur, Bali. The visit marked a meaningful moment of international exchange, as we welcomed H.E. Mr. Olivier Poivre d’Arvor, Ambassador of France for Polar and Maritime Affairs and Special Envoys of the President of the French Republic for the United Nations Ocean Conference.
The meeting brought together representatives from non-governmental organizations committed to marine conservation. This one-hour discussion provided an important platform for dialogue on marine protection, global marine challenges, and the role of civil society in advancing sustainable ocean governance. The French delegation was led by H.E. Mr. Olivier Poivre d’Arvor and accompanied by Mr. Denys Cennet-Planchard, Director of Alliance Française Bali. The visit highlighted France’s dedication to advancing marine conservation and strengthening international cooperation in the lead-up to the United Nations Ocean Conference.
H.E. Mr. Olivier Poivre d’Arvor expressed a strong interest in learning directly from NGOs actively working on marine conservation. This was a valuable opportunity to share our work and experiences, particularly our initiatives in Bali and across the Coral Triangle region, which is globally recognized as the epicenter of marine biodiversity. The exchange highlighted the importance of collaboration between local organizations and international partners in addressing issues such as climate change, marine pollution, and sustainable coastal management.
CTC is grateful for this opportunity to engage in constructive dialogue and we are looking forward to strengthening partnerships that support the shared goal of protecting and sustaining our oceans for future generations.
