04 Aug Ocean Keeper Club Holds Special Session at SDN 8 Sanur

On June 18th, 2025, the Ocean Keeper Club (OKC) team was specially invited to SD Negeri 8 Sanur to deliver a one-day outreach session on marine conservation. This meaningful session was part of our ongoing efforts to raise awareness about ocean protection. A total of 146 students participated, with the support of six dedicated teachers who helped make the event a success.

During the session, students were introduced to coastal ecosystems and the concept of a “coral city”, a vibrant underwater habitat that plays a vital role in marine biodiversity and shoreline protection. Using engaging storytelling and visuals, we helped students explore the importance of coral reefs and the challenges they face, including pollution and climate change.

One of the highlights was the interactive quiz session. The students were incredibly enthusiastic, showing great energy and curiosity. Their active participation brought the room to life and showed a deep interest in learning more about the ocean and how to protect it.

To conclude the outreach, we screened “Who’s the Blue”, a short and powerful video that highlights the threat of plastic waste in our oceans. The film served as an eye-opener, inspiring students to think about their daily habits and the small actions they can take to make a positive difference for the marine environment.

We are truly grateful to SD Negeri 8 Sanur for the warm welcome and the opportunity to share our message with their students. Their support and enthusiasm reflect the growing awareness of the importance of ocean protection among schools and young learners.

Following this outreach session, OKC officially launched Batch 3 with its first full session on July 26th, 2025, marking the beginning of another exciting journey in empowering young ocean advocates.
