31 Dec Exploring the Wonders of the Reef Through Film at CTC
On Thursday, 27 November 2025, CTC hosted a Movie Screening Event featuring “Puff: Wonders of the Reef”, a film by Nick Robinson, held at the CTC Center for Marine Conservation in Sanur. The movie captivated the audience with its visually rich storytelling and engaging portrayal of coral reef ecosystems. Through the film, more than 60 participants were introduced to the fascinating underwater world and gained a deeper understanding of marine life, reef dynamics, and the importance of protecting ocean ecosystems. The storytelling format made complex ecological concepts accessible and engaging for audiences of different ages and backgrounds.
The program began with introducing our two educational escape rooms offered at our Center to help participants become more familiar with CTC’s hands-on learning activities and encourage them to explore marine conservation through immersive experiences beyond the movie screening. Following the introduction, participants enjoyed the movie screening, which held their attention throughout the session. The audience’s strong engagement reflected the film’s ability to spark curiosity and emotional connection to marine life. To further reinforce key messages from the documentary, the screening was followed by an interactive Kahoot quiz. Participants enthusiastically took part in the quiz, answering questions related to the film and marine conservation themes. The activity created a fun and lively atmosphere while also serving as a learning reinforcement tool.
At the conclusion of the event, two participants were invited to share their testimonials. Both expressed positive feedback and appreciation for the screening, highlighting how the event increased their awareness of marine conservation and inspired them to care more deeply about marine ecosystems. Their reflections emphasized the value of combining entertainment with education to effectively communicate conservation messages.
Overall, the movie screening event successfully combined education and creativity, contributing to increased public awareness and interest in marine conservation. The positive response from participants reinforces the importance of creative and interactive outreach activities in inspiring ocean stewardship.
