On 31 October 2025, Talking Underwater made its long-awaited comeback, featuring a special guest, Edi Frommenwiler, founder of Grand Blue Project, who introduced participants to the platform’s newly expanded tools.
During the talk, Edi showcased two major enhancements that are set to transform how users learn about marine life: the interactive Tree of Life and the real-time species mapping features. These tools offer a more immersive experience, allowing users to explore species relationships and visualize where marine creatures are found, all in real time.
The session brought together around 31 participants from diverse backgrounds, including fellow NGO partners, university students, divers, and representatives from the private sector. The mix of perspectives sparked engaging conversations about marine biodiversity and the importance of accessible technology in marine conservation.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of enthusiasm among participants, many expressing excitement to integrate the platform into their work, studies, and personal interest in marine conservation. We hope that Talking Underwater is poised to become an even more powerful tool in raising awareness and inspiring action to protect our oceans.
