20 Mar Coral Diving School: Expanding Knowledge of Marine Life from Home!
On February 29, 2025, CTC’s Coral Diving School successfully conducted another series of online specialty courses, marking the 10th batch of its Marine Ecology, Coral Identification, and Fish Identification courses. These courses provide an opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of marine ecosystems from the comfort of their homes.
Throughout the sessions, participants engaged in interactive discussions, demonstrating enthusiasm and curiosity about marine conservation. The courses introduce essential topics such as the importance of coral reefs, key fish species identification, and marine ecology principles. To earn the SSI certificate, students need to achieve a minimum score of 80% on the certification exam.Â
We are pleased to share that all participants in this batch successfully passed and received their certificates! In addition to their certification, they were also rewarded with exclusive merchandise and a free house tour of the Center for Marine Conservation during their visit to Sanur, Bali. The engaging delivery of the material sparked further interest, leading participants to inquire about the next step in their learning journey—Scientific Diving. This highlights the growing passion for marine conservation and the eagerness of students to explore the underwater world even further.
“During the class, it was very interactive, and there was a lot of knowledge to gain from the instructor, Mr. Marthen Welly. Not only did we receive academic texts, but we also learned from the instructor’s experiences, allowing us to grasp the knowledge quickly.” Â
– Denny Bhatara (Coral Dive School Alumni Batch #10)
Coral Diving School continues to offer both online and onsite courses, ranging from Try Scuba and Basic Snorkeling to Open Water and Advanced Diving Certifications. Conducted in collaboration with SSI, these courses are led by experienced marine conservationists dedicated to protecting the rich marine biodiversity of Indonesia and the Coral Triangle region.
Proceeds from these courses directly support CTC’s marine conservation initiatives, ensuring that every learning experience contributes to the preservation of our ocean. Stay tuned for the next batch of courses and join us in our mission to protect marine life!
