29 Dec CTC Takes the Stage in Raising Awareness on Marine Conservation at the Samudera Eco Festival

Coral Triangle Center (CTC) recently participated in the Samudera Eco Festival, an exciting event hosted by Ripcurl in collaboration with Yayasan Samudera Peduli. This festival took place on Kuta Beach on December 16, 2023, with a primary objective of raising social and environmental awareness, particularly targeting the younger generation.

The festival was a collaborative effort that brought together various community organizations, offering them a platform to showcase their programs and highlight their positive impacts on communities. Each participating organization was provided with a booth to display their initiatives, creating an engaging space for visitors to learn about different projects focused on promoting social and environmental awareness.

Furthermore, the event drew an impressive crowd, with nearly 500 visitors in attendance. Among them, over 40 guests specifically visited the CTC booth, indicating a keen interest in the organization’s initiatives. This event not only allowed CTC to showcase its commitment to marine conservation but also provided a valuable opportunity to connect with individuals who share a passion for safeguarding our oceans.

CTC took this opportunity to share its programs and efforts aimed at raising awareness about the importance of coral reefs and mangroves in preserving marine biodiversity. Through engaging displays, informative materials, and interactive sessions, CTC aimed to reach a wider audience and educate them about the critical role of these ecosystems in maintaining the health of the ocean.

In addition to the booth, CTC was also involved in a talk show during the event. The focus of the discussion was centered on the significance of coral reefs and mangroves, emphasizing their role in supporting marine biodiversity and the health of the ocean. The talk also featured a video of manta rays in Nusa Penida’s Marine Protected Area (MPA), highlighting the risks of marine plastic debris to marine animals.

The Samudera Eco Festival offered CTC a unique chance to boost its marine conservation efforts by showcasing its initiatives and success stories to new audiences. This exposure informs audiences about the value of coral reefs, underscores the necessity of marine conservation, and motivates individuals to take action.
