On September 22, CTC welcomed the Marine & Fishery Office of East Java Province to our Center for Marine Conservation. Their visit aimed to raise staff capacity and knowledge about marine conservation. The one-day visit took place in our eco-friendly pavilion and was attended by 18 participants, including Head of the Marine & Fishery Office of East Java Province, Malang Sub-district, Tri Handayani and Head of the Marine & Fishery Office of East Java Province, Blitar Sub-district, Eko Wahyu Hidayat.
The activity started with a welcome from Marthen Welly, CTC’s Marine Conservation Advisor and continued with a presentation of CTC’s recent work in marine protected areas (MPA). Wira Sanjaya, CTC’s Project Leader for the Nusa Penida MPA, also shared the program’s strengths and challenges within the Nusa Penida MPA. The participants were enthusiastic in asking questions and sharing insights related to programs in their own locations.
CTC committed to sharing its knowledge of marine conservation with other stakeholders in order to support conservation efforts. We hope that this visit will help to strengthen the relationship and collaboration between CTC and the Marine & Fishery Office of East Java Province in marine conservation fields.
