With travel restrictions lifted, we are once again hosting fun learning trips to Nusa Penida MPA. On May 10 and 11, Resonance Global hosted a meeting at our Center for Marine Conservation to launch the second phase of the Tuna Consortium. The two-day activities started with a fun learning trip to our learning site in the Nusa Penida MPA. The activity engaged the local community to learn about MPAs from the perspective of locals.

The activity started by visiting Ped Temple, one of the biggest temples in Nusa Penida, and continued by visiting the Nuansa Pulau Community Group where the participants were able to experience coral transplantation processes. They also had the chance to snorkel and experience hands-on coral planting in our coral nursery site. The participants were engaged in planting coral with the MARSS method, which was demonstrated by the CTC team and Nuansa Pulau Community Group.
On the second day, they continued their meeting in our eco-friendly pavilion. The meeting was participated by Fair Trade Certified, International Pole & Line Foundation, Marine Change, Masyarakat dan Perikanan Indonesia, and Yayasan Konservasi Alam Nusantara. Throughout the meeting, they committed to support the Indonesian government in implementing the Harvest Strategy for tuna fisheries.
