30 Mar CTC Permaculture Swirl Garden and Starfish Composting Station Officially Launched

On March 30, 2022, we officially launched our permaculture Swirl Garden and Starfish Composting Station with our guest of honour, the Australian Consul-General in Bali, Ms Anthea Griffin. The official launch was also attended by the Australian Volunteer Program (AVP) Regional Coordinator for Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, Athina Triyananda. The launch was marked by cutting a garland and planting marigold plant in our garden.

Our permaculture garden and composting station started in September 2021 and are both funded AVP Impact Fund, which we started in. It is part of our efforts to provide a demonstration platform for visitors to inspire them in adopting proper waste management plan, zero-waste lifestyle, and permaculture garden.

The Swirl Garden and Starfish Composting station will later be integrated with our fun learning activities at the Center. This will allow visitors to be engage and participate in hands on learning about the concept of Ridges to Reefs wherein what we do on land impacts the health of our ocean. We hope that the garden and the composting station will encourage visitors to take care of our planet by adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle. We will also be inviting teachers and students of various elementary schools in Sanur, Bali, in April to have various fun learning activities about zero-waste management and permaculture gardening at the Center.
