04 Mar Community Art Canvas at the 3rd Anniversary of Kedai Kopi Hilly
We recently celebrated the 3rd Anniversary of Kedai Kopi Hilly our coffee shop located in the Center for Marine Conservation. We marked the event on March 4, 2022 with a small gathering of CTC friends and partners who collaborated to make a “Community Art Canvas” – a collaborative live painting session wherein participants, led by an artist, contribute to make an artwork.
This year’s Community Art Canvas was led by artist Davina Stephens, a New Zealand-born artist currently based in Bali. Our guests and partners from BNI, Bali Institute and Made Griyawan of Studio Gelombang and the CTC team all joined to make the marine-themed painting.
Opened in 2019, Kedai Kopi Hilly is a cafe at the CTC Center for Marine Conservation where families and friends get together and enjoy drinks and delicious specialties from Hilly’s homemade recipes such as coconut pie (Klappertart), pumpkin pie, tapioca pie, as well as dishes inspired by the fresh produce from our permaculture garden The café is named after Hilly Lapian, a native from Minahasa who inherited the love for cooking from her mother. Hilly studied in Holland and became a member of the student club ‘Perintis Budaya’ to promote Indonesia throughout Europe through cultural performances. It is in Hilly’s nature to welcome everyone with a smile.
Come and visit our Kedai Kopi Hilly at CTC’s Center for Marine Conservation. A great spot for families and friends to gather together and enjoy our delicious foods and drinks. All proceeds from our shop will support CTC’s marine conservation efforts.
