10 Oct Bali Institute Learns about Marine Conservation

On October 10, 2019 we had a visit from the Bali Institute. The group of four families came to Bali to join a Global Family Travels Trip. During their one week visit, they stopped by the CTC Center for Marine Conservation.

Global Family Travels’ mission is to “Learn, Serve and Immerse,” using travel as a means to build cultural bridges and to foster global citizens. In partnership with CTC, Global Family Travel Trips offer their guests family-friendly travel experiences. Through the visit to the center, they offered a learning tour for their guests with a unique mix of educational and fun activities.

The Fun Learning Class, Coral Clay Workshop, and Escape Room gave the group a fun introduction to the basics of marine conservation. Both the kids and adults enjoyed the fun learning class, asking questions about different types of coral lifeforms and ecosystems.

The fun learning class was followed by the Coral Clay Workshop. Through this fun activity, each participant used their creativity, and their new knowledge of coral lifeforms, to hand build beautiful clay corals. To conclude their visit, the group was challenged to complete the mission in our “Escape Room SOS from the Deep”. Through their one-hour mission, the participants developed a greater understanding of the current threats marine ecosystems, and what they can do to help save the oceans.
