CTC was able to showcase two of its art pieces at the Our Ocean Conference 2018 venue in Bali Nusa Dua Conference Center. The first one was the Mini-Coral Universe, which is a small replica of the monumental installation located at the CTC Center for Marine Conservation. The second piece was Baruna Murthi, a sculpture made entirely made of waste materials and inspired by the Balinese tradition of Ogoh-ogoh. The art piece was launched in June 2018 to mark World Environment Day and as part of UN Environment’s multi-city art installation all carrying the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution.” The two art pieces sparked conversations among participants on how art can be a medium to inspire others to care for our seas.
