26 Aug Molas, Mantas and Mangroves in Nusa Penida

On Saturday August 26,  2017, we invited friends of CTC and board members to join us on a great day out to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. After a short introduction at our new Center for Marine Conservation about our recent projects and the Nusa Penida Marine Protected Area (MPA), we were picked up by Bali Hai Cruises to board the boat taking us to Nusa Lembongan. On arrival the group split up for the different activities planned that day.

One group went on an informative tour to the mangroves on Nusa Lembongan, followed by some snorkeling to experience the beauty of the areas underwater world.

The other group went for two exciting dives around Nusa Penida, Manta Bay and Crystal Bay. Even though we were not lucky enough to spot the rare mola, we did see majestic manta rays, banded sea kraits (sea snake), schooling fish, nudibranchs and beautiful, healthy corals.
