27 Jul US Lecturers Visit CTC As Part of the ASIANetwork Program

CTC hosted 12 university and college lecturers from the United States as part of their three-week trip through Indonesia. During their visit to the CTC office in Sanur, they learned about the importance of coral reefs, marine protected areas, sustainable tourism, and how to spread the message of ocean conservation through art and science projects. After that, the participants were introduced to our unique Coral Wall project and had the opportunity to build their own ceramic coral pieces, which will form part of the final exhibit.

The ASIANetwork, a consortium of 160 American colleges, which organizes trips to Asia every year. The objective is to stress the role of Asian Studies in liberal arts education to help prepare future generations of undergraduates for the increasing importance of Asian societies. We hope our activities have inspired them to spread the message on the importance of sustaining our marine environment!
