01 Dec CTC Kicks Off Implementation of Activities Under USAID SEA Project
In November and December 2016, CTC successfully kicked off our activities under the five-year USAID Sustainable Ecosystems Advanced (SEA) Project. This enhances our program portfolio and anchors our role of being a preferred local partner for marine conservation projects in Indonesia.
USAID SEA Project, which is being implemented by Tetratech and other partner organizations such as CTC, aims to utilize an ecosystem approach to fisheries management and engage key stakeholders to reform fisheries management and promote marine protected areas to enhance fisheries productivity, conservation, and sustainable utilization, and strengthen the leadership capacity of local governments in West Papua, Maluku, and North Maluku. CTC has already began implementing two training activities, a cetacean rapid ecological assessment survey and a perception survey which will guide the development of a communication and outreach program for communities.
