15 Sep CTC Executive Director Joins Conservation Leaders at Oceans Summit in Washington D.C.

CTC Executive Director Rili Djohani joined marine conservation leaders and ocean advocates in Washington DC on September 15-16, 2016 for the “Our Ocean” Conference hosted by the US State Department. The conference, attended by US President Barack Obama, Secretary John Kerry, and Leonardo DiCaprio among others, focused on the key ocean issues of our time such as marine protected areas, sustainable fisheries, marine pollution, and climate-related impacts on the ocean.

During the conference, Rili shared CTC’s experiences in marine protected area management and sustainable fisheries and learn from other success stories in marine resource management around the world. Rili also met with Indonesia Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjastuti on the sidelines of the conference to discuss commitments made at the conference.
