17 Apr Spreading the Message on Marine Conservation and Sustainable Tourism
In March we signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Living Seas, a scuba diving operator based in Singapore and Bali, to support sustainable tourism.
Under the MOU, Living Seas will promote and implement the code of conduct for divers, increase awareness of marine conservation and conservation practices among its staff and clients, and support us in reef monitoring, coral planting activities, and outreach fundraising activities.
In turn, CTC will provide Living Seas staff with 2-3 trainings on reef health monitoring, materials to promote sustainable diving practices, and materials on coral adoption and our ‘Friend-of-CTC’ program.
After the training, Living Seas will conduct reef health monitoring with their guests and issue a jointly signed certificate of completion. CTC will get US$30 proceeds for every certificate given.
We are looking forward to continuing our work with Living Seas and expanding and improving our program.
