From April 12-15, the Training & Learning team delivered its 5th training on Marine Conservation Action Plan in Semarang, Central Java. The training is part of an agreement between the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Diponegoro University and  the Coral Triangle Center.

Twenty-four senior fisheries students learned how to develop a conservation plan using software called MIRADI; order conservation targets; define threats and stresses; and develop strategies for conservation.

Students were shown how to use the Specific, Measurable, Achievable, and Time bound criteria (S.M.A.R.T), which guides the development of measurable and successful goals.Amrul, one of the participants from the School of Fisheries and Marine Science, said he hopes he can apply these newfound skills and that they will help his professional development.
