30 Sep Promoting Sustainable Fisheries in the Arafura Sea

On the remote island of Kei Besar, between the pristine and productive waters of the Arafura and the Banda Seas, lies the small fishing community of Ngan. Fishing is the main livelihood in the community and then this is dependent on weather and the seasons. SeaNet Indonesia began working with the fishermen in Ngan in 2017 to improve fisheries productivity, improving fishing practices to improve quality while reducing environmental impacts and building business management skills. Check this link to see how these men are working to improve sustainability of their fishing resource on the ground. Link: https://youtu.be/A9OWB_PzZv4
