16 Jun One-Year-Old Baby Corals Thrive in Sanur Channel

Last year CTC organized a Adopt-a-Coral activity to mark Coral Triangle Day wherein dive operators, hotels and other businesses in Sanur adopted baby corals and transplanted these on an artificial reef structure to grow and help to restore coral reefs in the Sanur channel.

We have recently checked the progress of our baby corals and found very encouraging news! Around 40% of the corals transplanted last year are growing well and are healthy, especially those which were placed on top of the dome. Also some fish found a new home there. The other corals are still in good shape but need some maintenance such as cleaning from algaes and other sediments. Baby coral parent who adopted corals last year were informed about the development of their little corals!
